Gemma Alcock from the UK is a pioneer in the use of drones for search and rescue. In addition to her research, she has been appointed to be the National Air Operations Lead at Lowland Rescue.  This opportunity is a prestigious voluntary role with the UK-based National charity.  Gemma is overseeing all air operations – both helicopter and UAS – for Lowland Rescue.  Under her leadership she will ensure that their search and rescue (SAR) ground teams interact with and/or operate all air operations as safely, efficiently and effectively as possible.

And, she’s one of our Women To Watch In UAS 2018!  Check out our conversation with Gemma.

Congratulations Gemma!
