Drone Diva Desi shares a few thoughts and her favorite photos

Wow…I am so glad I was able to attend the AMA Expo West.   This year the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) was held at the LA County Fairgrounds in Pomona.  There were many vendor booths, guest speakers and attractions. Indoors and outdoors. Large and small.

The AMA has been involved with hobbyist and youth development of aeromodelling by educating and community-based programming. It was heartwarming to see the kids of all ages inside the safety net having to opportunity to take the sticks and fly the drones. This year the show was not just about aircraft.   There were remote controlled boats, rockets, planes, trains and automobiles. The EAA Young Eagles Rally even offered free airplane rides for the youth ages 8-17.   What an experience!

The AMA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of model aviation as a recognized sport as well as a recreational activity.  If you would like to know more about the AMA, I encourage you to check out the Model Aircraft website. They have several flying locations and many fun events.   The AMA Expo West was entertaining and educational.
