Three words could change your life

January feels so fresh, right? And, we really need a reset right about now.

Do you feel hesitant, nervous, holding your breath as we begin 2021? We just don’t know what to anticipate next.

I always like to select a theme for the year which guides my goals and habits.

Do you have a theme for 2021?

Right in the middle of 2020, I read “Essentialism: The Pursuit of Less” by Greg McKeown and I’ve been recommending it to every human I know since then. The phrase that continues to resonate with me has become my 2021mantra: “Less but Better.”

These three words became so powerful to me. They are guiding my calendar and decisions that I make each day. I repeat it throughout the day, “less but better.”

What three words are powerful for you right now? What three words motivate you to make lasting change?

I love this thought from one of my favorite non-fiction books of 2019:

James Clear – Atomic Habits:

“Improvements are only temporary until they become part of who you are.

-The goal is not to read a book, the goal is to become a reader.

-The goal is not to run a marathon, the goal is to become a runner.

-The goal is not to learn an instrument, the goal is to become a musician.

This year, focus on the identity you want to build.”

 Little by little, one step at a time, momentum starts to kick in and we get things moving. Movement creates energy.

We’ve got this, 2021. Stay well, stay hydrated and stay sane.
