The session will be moderated by Women And Drones Safety Advisor, Desi Ekstein.
We use the Tello drone to teach both youth and adults initial drone flight control. It’s a low cost drone that is extremely light and low risk, perfect for teaching children. While 85% of training flights with the Tello are normally conducted inside, on windless days we like to take the students outdoors to fly. The Tello as you know is extremely small, flies a very short range from the controller, has no GPS and couldn’t carry a RID module either. Do you see the FAA carving out an exception for micro-mini drones like the Tello for outdoor use?
