MIchelle Hanlon is the featured spotlight speaker during the September 8th Coffee Connections session with Desi and Kim.

Michelle is the Co-Director of the Air and Space Law Program at the University of Mississippi School of Law and its Center for Air and Space Law. She will provide an overview of privacy law and offers solutions that will promote public acceptance, and encouragement, of drone usage.

Session Description:

The COVID pandemic has magnified the debate between privacy and public safety. So-called pandemic drones — UAVs that can enforce social distancing and detect fevers — could save lives and certainly reduce human-to-human contact. However, resistance is stubborn; voiced as fear that utilizing pandemic drones is just one step away from a “surveillance state.”
